A star for a much-loved pet

Last updated 1 November 2026

Pets are family, so it is no surprise that dogs, cats, horses and the odd tortoise have stars of their own in the Intergalactic Star Database. Any name you type is the name we register.

To celebrate them

A star makes a fun and surprisingly touching present for a new puppy, a rescue cat's "gotcha day", or a pet-loving friend. The Certificate of Registry looks smart framed by the lead hooks, and the star chart gives the whole family something to look for on a clear night.

To remember them

Many people name a star when a pet has died. It gives a place to look on the evenings you miss them most, and something lasting to keep. If that is why you are here, you might also find our page on remembering someone with a star helpful.

Choosing the name

  • Just their name: "Biscuit".
  • With the family name: "Biscuit Jones".
  • With a few words: "Biscuit, the best boy".

We print it exactly as you type it, so check the spelling and capitals. You can see how it looks on the certificate before you order.

Ordering: our gift pack is sold on Amazon. Type the name when you order, and the pack is posted to you, ready to give.
