Yes. Every star we register is a real star. From November 2026 each new star is chosen from the Hipparcos catalogue and listed with its catalogue number, its position and its constellation.
Your star's name is recorded in the Intergalactic Star Database. Official star names are decided by the International Astronomical Union, which doesn't recognise names from any commercial registry. More on this.
Most of our stars are just beyond what the eye can see on its own, so a pair of ordinary binoculars is best. Your star's page shows whether it is up tonight and where to look.
Our gift pack is £13.99 on Amazon. Type the name for your star when you order, and we register it and post the pack.
Most people choose a person's name, but it can be anything meaningful: a couple, a pet, a date or a phrase. We print it exactly as you type it.
