Registered before November 2026?

Last updated 1 November 2026

Our online registry opened in November 2026. Stars registered before then are held in our original registry, which isn't connected to this website, so they can't be looked up here. Your star and its registration are just as they were.

How your star was registered

Before November 2026, each star was registered in a star area: a region of the sky around a catalogued object, named on your certificate (for example NGC20) along with its constellation. Your Star Area Co-ordinates Sheet shows that area, with its position, when it is highest in the sky and a chart of the stars around it.

How to find your star area

  1. Look at your certificate for the star location (it starts with NGC or M) and the constellation.
  2. Find the constellation using the fold-out star chart from your pack.
  3. Use the Right Ascension and Declination on your co-ordinates sheet with a star-gazing app or a pair of binoculars to find the area itself. Our guide to finding a star explains how to read the sheet.
