Privacy and cookies

We keep this short and plain: what this website collects, why, and what choices you have. If anything here isn’t clear, contact us.
Who we are
This website is run by the Intergalactic Star Database. You can reach us at info@intergalacticstardatabase.co.uk or through our contact form.
What we collect
- Messages you send us. If you use the contact form, we receive your name, email address and message, and use them only to reply to you.
- Your star. When a star is registered, we record the star name you chose, its Database Number and the star it belongs to. Anyone who has the Database Number can see the star's page on this website, which shows the star name, not your personal details.
- Orders. Our gift pack is sold on Amazon, so Amazon handles your payment and delivery details under its own privacy notice. We only receive what we need to register your star and post your pack.
Cookies
We only use analytics cookies if you choose Allow on the cookie banner. They let us use Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages are useful, for example how many people go on to Amazon. They don't tell us who you are, and we don't use them for advertising. If you choose No thanks, nothing is tracked.
You can change your mind at any time with Cookie settings, which is also at the bottom of every page.
The site also remembers a few small choices on your own device (for example UK or US paper for printing, and your cookie choice). These never leave your device.
Links to other websites
Links to Amazon and Trustpilot take you to their websites, which have their own privacy notices.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete personal information we hold about you by emailing info@intergalacticstardatabase.co.uk. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
